Splitkon AS has over 70 employees with invaluable expertise and extensive experience from the Norwegian timber industry. Splitkon’s engineers undertake all necessary design and engineering documentation required to ensure that manufacturing, processing and assembly proceed as planned.
Strength
Cross-Laminated Timber consists of cross-laminated spruce lamellas that have exceptionally high strength relative to weight. Splitkon’s CLT uses only lamellas of extra high quality (T22).

Consultancy and expertise
Splitkon has a comprehensive expertise in glulam and cross-laminated timber structural systems that exceeds most in the industry. We offer specialist consultancy for timber-based building solutions, from concept development to completion.
Manufacturing
Our fully automated factory is fed with Norwegian timber at one end, and through the modern production line the lamellae are sorted, cut, planed, glued and pressed together into cross-laminated master panels. The panels then pass through large processing machines that cut the elements to customer specifications.
Transport and logistics
The finished processed elements are loaded in the correct sequence onto semi-trailers, so that when they arrive at the construction site they can be lifted straight into position in the structure and installed where they belong. This means the construction period is extremely short and the process on site is smooth and accurate.

Timber – a sustainable choice
Interest in and demand for cross-laminated timber is growing – a natural consequence of the fact that we can no longer ignore climate challenges. Whilst a cubic metre of concrete produces CO2 emissions of 385 kilos, a cubic metre of cross-laminated timber sequesters around 800 kilos of CO2*. The potential for a more sustainable construction industry is therefore substantial. This motivates us. Every day we work to demonstrate the benefits of choosing timber, and it is a rewarding endeavour. Timber is environmentally friendly, strong, lightweight in relation to its strength, and can be formed into all shapes.
